Job Summary: The position is located in Arlington, Virginia supporting the Joint Improvised-Threat Defeat Organization (JIDO) Integrated Signatures Program (ISP). Applicant will provide electrical engineering support to government Science and Technology (S&T) Research and Development (R&D) clients. Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research through the application of electrical engineering knowledge. Provides electrical engineering expertise by answering technical Requests for Information (RFI). Applicant will define system requirements, review vendor designs and technical proposals, research and develop technical solutions, perform systems functional analysis, and conduct trade studies and/or technical reviews. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides support for the understanding and development of countermeasures against current and evolving improvised threat weapon systems.
  • Analyses electrical products by researching and testing manufacturing and/or assembly methods and materials.
  • Analyses manufacturing processes by assembling electrical components and soliciting observations from operators and reports.
  • Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods, testing finished products and system capabilities.
  • Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains R&D prototype compliance in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET (www.abet.org) accredited institution in Electrical Engineering
  • Master's degree
  • Master of Science degree from an ABET (www.abet.org) accredited institution in Electrical Engineeringis desired
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Certification is desired

OR: 12-14 years in an electrical engineering discipline

Special Requirements:

  • Must have an active clearance to be considered for this position
  • Preferred experience with improvised threats or improvised weapons systems
  • 8-10 years professional experience in electrical engineering or related field
