Job Summary: Support is required to assist the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) Analytical Laboratory with ordering, inventory, and issuing of laboratory supplies. Laboratory Supply Managers ensure proper accounting and will maintain and track AFTAC equipment and supplies in accordance with traditional AF supply and logistic capability in support of DoD missions.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Direct the issuing and organization of equipment and supplies

  • Perform item and monetary accounting and inventory stock control

  • Provide support in storage, inspection, identification, and receipt of supplies and property

  • Perform and monitor management of manual or automated inventory control actions

  • Control and issue bench stock property

  • Inspect and identify conditions of supplies and property received and perform shelf life inspections of stock

  • Ensure proper disposal of chemical containers to the 45th HAZMAT and logging transfers

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:     

  • Standard Operating Procedure Development

     

  • Basic mathematics

  • Supply policies and procedures

  • Property accounting

  • Stock and inventory control

  • Storage methods

  • Material handling techniques

  • Methods of preparing and maintaining supply records

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications 

  • Ability to write technical reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.

  • Strong oral and written communications skills, in addition to interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished orally or in writing

  • Basic logistics principles IAW AFI 23-111 desired

  • Principles of property accounting through manual or automated processing systems desired

  • Manual and automated supply accounting systems desired

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret government regulations, policies, and planning documents desired

  • Certified forklift operator desired

Education:

  • BA/BS + 5 - 8 years experience OR  9 - 12 years experience in lieu of degree

Special Requirements:

  • Lift and move equipment
