Job Summary:  The position is located in Crystal City, Virginia when not deployed OCONUS supporting the Joint Improvised-Threat Defeat Organization (JIDO) in the J8.  While deployed, work with Command and Operations Sections to focus proposed and existing counter and defeat improvised threat technologies for deployment in Theater and S&T efforts.  This includes input in defining requirements for C-IED capability gaps to draft and submit JUONS, coordination and integration of JIDO sponsored activities OCONUS, and the operational assessment of those technologies.  The applicant must quickly respond to technical Request for Information, (RFIs), assist in the development of intelligence products on key findings of exploitation efforts, and coordinate focused analyses for technical questions regarding IEDs. Provide reach-back support while CONUS in-between deployments in order to assist OCONUS Tech Integrator.  Provide other support as required both CONUS and OCONUS.

Essential Job Functions:  

  • Deploy to austere environment for approximately 120 days in country.
  • Must be able to work independently and possess strong research and writing skills.
  • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate in oral and written communication at the executive level.
  • Create and maintain weekly Tech Integrator reports while OCONUS.
  • Attend meetings via Video Teleconference (VTC) with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accountability of procured equipment and process customs paperwork with host nation.
  • Coordinate shipping and transport of C-IED training devices and technologies.
  • Provide support to deployed Tech Integrators when CONUS


  • Read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, reports, legal documents, etc.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to company management and/or customer
  • Respond to inquiries from customers, management, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Oversee daily activities of area or customer
  • Support development and/or execution of company policies, procedures, & guidance
  • Ability to identify and solve problems

Required:  Bachelor's Degree plus 10 years experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science
  • Master of Science degree in a technical field
In Lieu of:
  • 16 years experience (No BA/BS)

Special Requirements:

  • Deployable position: will deploy for approximately 120 days about every 240 days.
  • TS/SCI is required
  • Applicant must attend CONUS Replacement Center (CRC) and pass medical and dental exams.
  • Applicant must pass a medical prescreen in preparation for CRC medical exams.
  • Applicant must be able to obtain a Visa in the country of deployment.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in managing C-IED technologies.
  • Deployment experience within the past 5 years is preferred
  • Knowledge of DoD acquisition process
