Job Summary: 

Determine staffing needs and provide direct hiring support to ZelTech's Operations and Technical Solutions (OTS) group in order to meet the organization's need for scientists, engineers and other technical professionals. The individual must be familiar with the various job sites such as LinkedIn, ClearanceJobs, Indeed, Monster, and others in order to conduct market research on a national level. The technical recruiter needs to be able to write job requisitions, define position requirements, identify overly restrictive job requirements and work with Hiring Managers to develop alternative qualifications, source, screen, and present qualified candidates to hiring managers. The ideal candidate must understand technology, technical roles and technical skills.       

Essential Job Functions:

  • Works with hiring managers to determine staffing needs
  • Review job descriptions in order to understand the needs of the hiring manager and identify potentially limiting language or requirements
  • Review resumes from job sites and actively soliciting individuals qualified for positions
  • Make cold-calls to potential candidates
  • Provide initial screening of candidates
  • Determine the competence of candidates when compared to a technical job description
  • Perform in-person, video conference and phone interviews with candidates, and coordinate interviews with hiring managers
  • Follow-up on the interview process status
  • Manage status of applicants in ApplicantPro
  • Active communication with not only hiring managers but also candidates
  • Conduct reference background checks
  • Maintain record/database of qualified but not selected candidates
  • Daily reviews of hiring status with OTS group manager and hiring managers

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:    

  • Technical background/experience/understanding (e.g. System Engineering, Software development, Computer Science, IT, physics, chemistry, biology)
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense (DOD) contracting and agencies
  • Basic understanding of DOD/DOE clearances
  • Working knowledge of employment and labor law
  • Good interpersonal skill
  • Effective communicator (verbal and written)
  • Good Listener
  • Self-confidence and self-starter
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • AFTAC experience desired
  • Direct experience using LinkedIn Recruiter desired
  • Direct Experience working with ApplicantPro desired
  • Direct Experience working with ClearanceJobs desired

Education:

  • BA/BS in related technical discipline or HR + 3-5 years of experience OR 9 - 12 years of experience in lieu of degree

Special Requirements:

  • Capable of qualifying for a Government TS/SCI clearance
