Job Summary:  The IDs work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other course stakeholders to design, develop, and produce AFSOC innovative online and face to face (F2F) courses. The IDs work within a multi-disciplinary course production team to create traditional courseware and/or transform traditional courseware into online formats in innovative and compelling ways that are of equal or great effectiveness than F2F implementation of equivalent content.

Essential Job Functions:

  • IDs develop and refine frameworks, storyboards, flow diagrams, templates, and prototypes for course and curriculum design, work with faculty/SMEs.
  • They develop course instructional plans and detailed design blueprints, guide the conversion of traditional F3F courses to appropriate online formats, and collaborate with SMEs to assign content to available delivery methods to support desired learning outcomes.
  • IDs collaborate with a team of educational technologists to produce and/or source multimedia learning objects (i.e., video, audio, interactive objects, simulations, animations and other forms of media), collaborate to determine course level assessment models and build appropriate assessment into individual courses; participate in special projects as required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  

  • A minimum of 6 semester hours in instructional methods
  • Demonstrated (i.e., a portfolio and or URL link, media disk exemplifying creative products) track record showing creating engaging, effective online and/or F2F courseware or instructional products, in various formats (i.e., SCORM, HTML5, SVG, xAPI, FLV, MP3, MP4, AVI)
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience creating and improving F2F and/or online adult learning curriculum,
  • A minimum of 2 years courseware authoring experience with Adobe Captivate, Creative Suite, and other comparable courseware authoring tools
  • Excellent and patient communicator skills with equal comfort interacting with executive and academic leadership, faculty, technologists and curriculum production teams
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience and skilled with packaging and uploading content to an Learning Management System (LMS) academic content host
  • Proven excellent collaborator skills, but also be cable and comfortable moving projects forward and serving as a project manager
  • Minimum of 2 years performing instructor or instructor assistant duties in military (preferably AFSOC) education using the ISD process, demonstrated knowledge and skills with SCORM (Shareable Content Object Reference Model) and xAPI (i.e. Tin Can API) specifications and their implication for courseware design, development, and delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure integrity of task analysis, training requirements, training hierarchies, instructional materials, and evaluation plans
  • Able to keep deadlines and manage change to assure personal responsibility for timelines
  • Comfortable interacting with leadership, faculty, technologists, and other teams (ISD).
  • Special Operations experience required
  • Basic knowledge of the following MDSs: AC-130U/W, MC-130H/P, U-28, MC/PC-12, C-145, C-130J, and other non-standard aviation aircraft      

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Social and Physical Sciences

Special Requirements:

  • Must possess a Secret security clearance
